While listing the product through single listing option or bulk listing via excel sheet, you'd have come across two terms Product Attributes & Product Options that may look similar yet different, here we'll explain the differences.
1. Product Attributes:
There are two elements in Attributes as Attribute Groups and Attributes. You can have any number of Attribute Groups and under each Group, you shall have multiple Attributes and each Attributes can have different values.
For example, if you are selling dresses, you can create an Attribute Group with a name 'Style' and create various Attributes like 'Neck Style, Work Style, Material Type, Color' under this 'Style' Attribute Group.
And for every product you upload, you shall have different values for these Attributes. You shall add values 'Red, Blue, Red' for the Color Attribute.
And in the filter box of the Category pages, your customers can select to see only the Red color items or only the cotton items, etc.,
So adding Attributes to your products will help your customers to easily filter the items based on their requirement.
2. Product Options
When you have more variations of the same product i.e., having different colors a same products or having multiple sizes of same products like 38, 40, 42, etc.,
If you add these as product options, users can select in the product page as which color or size they want to order based on the availability.
